If you need gear we rent custom 9 weight saltwater Burkheimer fly rods, Galvan T-10 reels with 300 yards of 50 pound Gel-Spun and SA 10 weight Sharkskin lines or SA 10 weight saltwater tapers. We also have dive booties made by Oceanic. Our setups are time tested and fit the fishery perfectly. Booties are available free of charge for a day.

Contact the Coach for outer island packages. We have a house committed to our guide service on an outer island that offers Blue Ribbon bonefishing for Monster Bones. GTs are also on station commonly. These are World Record Type Waters! Call for pricing.

What to bring

8-10 weight fly rod (preferrebly 9 weight saltwater type action)

Fly line one weight above rod (example a 10 weight line for 9 weight rod)

We use SA Saltwater Tapers or SA Saltwater Sharkskins. Airflo Ridgelines work well also. The water temps only climb above 80 for a month or so (July-August) so "tropical lines" are not make or break.

Good reel that matches rod with at least 200 yards (at the very least) backing

Leader material (Butt section - 50-60 pound Maxima is our favorite.)

Tippet material (15-30 pound Maxima Fluorocarbon is what we use) Guides will carry plenty of leader free of charge to you if you can't make it to the fly-shop. Guides also carry Maxima IGFA tippet material if you want to focus on a possible line class World Record.

Good flats boots or heavy duty scuba booties with walking soles. (We have extras)

Good polarized sunglasses. Coppers and ambers work best. We like Kaenon, and Action Optics

SPF 50 sunscreen

Flats shirt, shorts or pants. Try to go with earth tones.

Hat

Camera (Waterproof or Waterproofed)

Flies (Most traditional patterns work, but we have go to flies that work best in paradise. If you love to tie like us, you can call us and we'll point in the right direction.)

We rent fly-fishing equipment. Equipment is 40 bucks a day. This includes rod, reel, booties, the whole shooting match. This cost simply covers postage if something is broken so we can send it to the mainland, get it fixed or replaced and back on the water.

Change of clothes for the ride home.

We supply stripping baskets. We use the Orvis or LL Bean plastic "buckets" with cones inside. There are other good baskets, and you may have a favorite, but stripping baskets without cones have not performed well in our experiences.
